I have basically ignored this blog roughly for about a week. I knew that. I am very busy last week and this week. Yet, I am loving this moment. Part of time is dedicated towards volunteering. For some of you, volunteering seems to be something I will not do, right? One friend of mine sounded a little shocking when another friend who volunteered with me told him that. Did I give such a bad impression around people?
In short, I am living in the moment. For one, I know a bunch of great people. Finally, I met more Malaysians from other universities and countries as well. They are very nice people to chat with while volunteering. Yah, talking about volunteering. I am working for the AUS ED expo which falls on this coming Thursday. I anticipate a very busy day because I will fly myself from lecture which will end at 2pm to the expo till 5pm. Not sure about my duty though.
Additionally, I get to explore Sydney and taste different type of cuisine. I am going to share a fact about a rather unique experience I had. That day, my team decided to have lunch at a place known as "Malacca Straits". As the name suggests, it is a Malaysian cuisine restaurant. Guess the price for nasi lemak and roti canai. Each is 10 dollars lunch special menu. Shocking right? My Indonesian friend had 2 pieces of roti canai for 10dollars while another Chinese friend had nasi lemak for the same price. Luckily, the lunch is subsidized by the Corporation. Hehe....
The funny thing is Malaysians find it hard to pay for 10 bucks for this 1 ringgit food while I,myself grow accustomed to this price already. If you want to have a glimpse on the expo I am working on, I will attach it here. Last Sunday is a day filled with gan cheong~ness. Darn it! I mean it. Never in my life I have felt this much of adrenaline flowing through my body. I have one assignment due on today 4pm and I had only done 10% that time. The thing is I did not expect so much tables, graphs and researches have to be carried out. I have spent whole day on that assignment, plus I slept at 2am and woke up 6am today to finish it. Phew!!!! Imagine my relief. What excites me more is I like the feeling of getting gan cheong. Some sort of excitement on my part. One lesson: Start your assignment early!
